This Just In: Phillip Lim x Target

Phillip Lim x Target

Target's most recent designer collaboration with Phillip Lim hit stores on September 15th and as usual I was first in line to see what the collection had to offer. I always look at the preview videos and study the look books that are released online prior to the collections release, but there is nothing like going to the store to feel the fabrics and see how the items look in person and fit your body, style and personality.

I am a fan of Target's designer collaborations because they offer the everyday buyer who may not be able to afford these designers on a regular basis the opportunity to own a piece from this designer at a price point that falls within their budget. I have read comments from some people saying that they don't like the collections because everyone is buying the same things and will look the same. To that I say, unless you are having your clothes made one of kind and custom then there is always someone out there who owns what you own. If you shop in a mall or department store then that item is not unique to your closet. It is all in how you style your item and how you wear it. Each person has the opportunity to own their look whether they are wearing the same thing as the next person or not.

With that being said, I purchase the pieces I felt that I could make my own and that work best with my personal style and wardrobe. I plan to mix and match these pieces throughout the fall and winter months in different ways as I do with all my pieces and make them my own.

If you are still in the market to purchase pieces from this collection some are still available online and in stores (limited quantities). Ebay resellers of course have things listed but they are ridiculously over priced in my opinion.

Where you able to snag anything from Target's latest designer collaboration? If so what items and how will you be styling them?

Accessories I Love: Alex and Ani Charm Bangles

I adore personalized jewelry and little trinkets that can be worn interchangeably with other pieces of jewelry that I own and stacked for a layered look. I also love pieces that have a message or meaning. When it comes to accessories to much is never enough in my opinion. The more the merrier. A while ago while searching online for jewelry I came across Alex and Ani bangles. I did not order them right away but I put the on my purchase/wish list and knew that I would eventually buy them. The bracelets are super cute and come in silver or an antique gold. They have tons of charms options to choose from including initials, zodiac signs and even sorority letters. One thing that I love about these bracelets is that they are made here in America and use recycled and eco-friendly materials. They can be worn alone, with other bracelets, or stacked. The bracelets are also adjustable and expandable. I was on the Nordstrom website when I initially came across the bracelets a while ago but today during a trip to my local TJ Maxx while browsing there jewelry counter to my surprise I found a bunch of Alex and Ani bangles! Although the bracelets are very reasonably priced to begin with, I am never one to pass up a great bargain or the additional savings that I am usually able to get on items that I find in TJ Maxx. I was super excited that I had found these bracelets in the store and going on and on about them (and my husband was starring at me like I was crazy as usual lol!). Unfortunately they did not have mine or my husbands initials ( I will order those from the web eventually), but I was able to find both of our zodiac signs. I got them in silver which goes perfectly one of my watches and a bracelet that I wear almost everyday. If you love personalized and unique jewelry I would suggest checking out the Alexa and Ani website here
