On the Go

Summer Shapewear

Miraclesuit Shapewear

As a curvy girl who has some very unforgiving parts of my body, shapewear has become one of my best friends. You name the style or brand and I have probably tried it. I know that their are those of us out there that swear by a certain brand, but I am not one of those people. If the coverage and support is adequate for me then I will wear it. I am not so caught up or stuck on name brands or price point for the most part. Recently while on the hunt for some new shapewear to wear with summer maxis dresses and skirts I came across the Miraclesuit brand and decided to give it a try.
This is not my first time trying this brand. I had purchased and returned a full body shaper from Miraclesuit during my wedding because it did not work with my dress. Despite not having had good luck the first time around, I decided to go for it once again. While reading an instagram post by another curvy fashionista who was discussing shapewear, I decided after reading some good things to research a little on my own and see if this brand/style would work for me. After reading online reviews, I decided to try the Miraclesuit shapewear extra firm control thigh slimmer. Boy am I glad that I did!
I have purchased and worn Spanx before in a similar style and the Miraclesuit was 1000 times better! It gave me a more firm control and also did roll up on my legs and thighs which the Spanx brand tends to do. This is not to say anything negative against Spanx, I still love their tights, but for this style shaper I prefer the Miraclesuit. I went to eBay, which I often do when looking to purchase an item that I am unsure if I want to invest a huge amount in, and luckily found a brand new Miraclesuit in my size for a fraction of the cost. I purchased it immediately and once it came in the mail I tried it on and the rest is history! The Miraclesuit is comfortable enough to wear for extended periods of time and gives the right amount of control for my problem areas. I am hooked and will be purchasing a few more to carry me throughout the spring and summer. If you are looking for shapewear ladies this is the way to go!
The Miraclesuit brand can be purchased at Macy's, Zappos, Belk and Bare Necessities. Prices vary depending on the retailer.

Black x White

Score

I don't know about anyone else but I am always on the lookout for a bargain! I love to score designer or hard to find items at a great price. The thrill of the hunt excites me lol! But seriously, when I visit bargain or discount stores I always keep my eyes open for a good buy. I have found really nice items this way. On a recent trip to my local TJ Maxx I stumbled across a very cute Rebecca Minkoff studded pouch ( I call it a clutch and that is what I plan to use it as). Since I had been looking for an orange clutch anyway I decided to grab it. Sometimes I second guess myself and end up putting things back by the time I reach the register, but I am definitely glad this was not one of those times! When I got home I searched the internet to see if I could find this particular clutch and was able to locate it on the Rebecca Minkoff website. Although they do not have it in orange, boy was I surprised to see how much it retailed for. The exact item, the Lissa Pouch, is currently being sold for $125! I paid a whopping $29.99 for mine! Can we say bargain! I was uber exited to see that I had gotten such a great deal! TJ Maxx really does have some wonderful items for home and wardrobe. Do you shop TJ Maxx? What items have you scored there?

 My new baby!

To purchase your own Lissa Pouch in Periwinkle visit the website here.
I was also able to locate the pouch in coral here on sale for $81.99,  and here in blue for $95.
There are also a few listed on eBay. Happy shopping!
